Bill and his wife Alice began diving in 1995 and have traveled extensively
in the Caribbean. A former wildlife photographer and biology teacher, Bill's love for our
environment and photography is evident in the quality of his macro photos. As members of
C.O.R.A.L. and R.E.E.F., they actively promote reef conservation and preservation in their
slide shows. As Ambassadors for "THE CORAL REEF ALLIANCE", they share their love for the
ocean and its' inhabitants by presenting an educational program called "The Vanishing Rainbow"
to schools and civic groups in their area.
As underwater photographers and naturalists, Bill and Alice are intensely aware of the state of
our oceans and the coral reefs. They believe that education is the key to saving our resources.
It is the next generation that will decide the fate of our world. Bill and Alice have appeared on the
Canadian television program, "Undersea Explorers" and have been spokespersons for the Coral Reef
Alliance on their "CORAL - Working Together to keep the Coral Reef Alive".
Bill has won numerous contests with his photos and has been published in calendars and magazines.
He uses 35mm SLR cameras in housings with macro lenses for his work underwater. Alice is the
hunter-naturalist who locates the subjects for Bill to shoot with the camera.
Bill holds degrees from Cornell University and Indiana State University in vertebrate zoology
and wildlife management. He taught science and biology in upstate New York before entering the
real estate field in Asheville, NC in 1983. Bill and Alice spend several weeks a year in the
Caribbean adding to their inventory of photographs as well as attending the Bonaire Dive Festival,
D.E.M.A., and working at several of the dive
shows in the country each year.
